Friends of Sci-Quest 2012

Dear Friend,

The Sci-Quest Board of Directors has asked that we reach out to the most important people and organizations in our community. We hope to include you in this group. We are asking for a contribution of $100 or more but any contribution is greatly appreciated.  HERE’s WHY:

Sci-Quest is committed to our children as they discover and explore the wonders of science, technology and mathematics and we strive to connect their interest to the exciting career fields that exist throughout Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley. We remain dedicated to this goal in face of a difficult economic climate. We are trying to raise $100,000 to match a City of Huntsville Challenge Grant as we must match their commitment in order to keep the funds.  We are grateful that the City has recognized us as a priority and given us this opportunity.  Your assistance is critical in meeting the challenge before us and enables us to continue putting children first.

Sci-Quest is implementing new programs with a focus on local students. Some of the highlights from the last year include:

  • The Career Quest Series: We hosted over 1,000 middle and high school students introducing them to high growth science, technology, engineering and mathematic (STEM) careers
  • The annual Expanding Your Horizons Conference: Over 1,250 middle school girls attended
  • Robotics Competitions: Over 20 competitive robotic teams are hosted at the center
  • Exhibit Center: Over 100,000 visitors in 2011
  • Three new exhibits with support from HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, WHNT News 19, and the Tennessee Valley Authority
  • STEM education programs: Provided to more than 50,000 students and 13 outlying counties

As we move forward, we are building on our legacy and will continue to stress service to schools. We truly believe that we must help our community and our children. We are pulling together to continue offering an outstanding experience to each individual that enters the Center. YOU can have an impact on our success.

Any amount that you give is 100% tax deductible.  We know that with you as a part of our team, we can affirm our commitment to the inspiration and education of tomorrow’s leaders.
