September 6 - September 28, 2008

Canstruction is the most unique food drive in the world. Architects and engineers from the area will strut their design and construction genius to see whose team can build the most spectacular structure using little more than full cans of food. All this design talent was put to the test to make a difference in the effort to fight hunger.

All of the food cans used will be donated to the North Alabama Food Bank. Last year's event donated almost 4 tons of food. That went a long way to feed the hungry in North Alabama.

Beginning at noon on September 5, the area's most prestigious firms will place their reputations on the line as they fight for bragging rights. They have just 12 hours to see how their creativity and abilities stack-up to their competitors as they work against the deadline to assemble structures inside Sci-Quest. Using little more than cans of non-perishable foods, tape... and prayer, they will defy the laws of gravity and help stamp out hunger – One Can at a Time!

This event is sponsored by The Kroger Company and benefits the North Alabama Food Bank.
