Kid Concoctions

Come have a slimy good time as we introduce your child to the world of chemical reactions. Experiment with polymer snow, slime, and even extract polymers from diapers! You will even get to make your own Sci-Quest slime to take home!
You’ve Gotta Have Heart
Grades 3-5
10a.m.-noon
Fee: $16
You will not miss a beat when we unravel the mysteries of the human heart and circulatory system! Participants will create a human blood model, make their own stethoscopes, and observe the instructor dissect a pig’s heart. This class is sure to get your blood pumping!
Frog Dissection
Grades 6-9
10a.m.-noon
Fee: $20
Ribbit, Ribbit. Learn about frogs from the inside out. Using real and virtual dissections, we will discover human anatomy by looking at the insides of a real frog. The squeamish need not apply!

Construction Zone

Beginning engineers will love discovering why buildings are made the way they are in this interactive construction program. From floor to roof, your children will learn how buildings are designed and constructed to stand against the elements. Participants will even make a tool that they can use to help with those odd jobs around the house!
Burning Rubber
Grades 3-5
10a.m.-noon

The hum of the wheels…the roar of the crowd! Explore the impacts of friction and collision then design ski jump incline as you learn the basic skills of hang time and speed. Build, paint, and decorate a speed demon to race!
Jungle Bots
Grades 6-9
10a.m.-noon
Fee: $34
Explore the adventurous world of robotics with the Jungle robot. Construct your robot as a gorilla that can walk on the ground or as an orangutan that can swing from a tight rope. This robot will even respond to your voice! Note: Each child will need a small Phillips’ head screwdriver, long nose pliers, and small hammer to complete the robot.

Backyard Friends
Grades K-2

How can your young zoologist help out their furry and feathered friends this winter? By learning what animals need to survive the cold months until spring. Children will learn the importance of food, water, and shelter as they make food and shelter to take home to their own backyard friends.
Winds of Destruction
Grades 3-5
10a.m.-noon
Fee: $18
Get blown away as we travel into the strongest storms on Earth. Chase tornadoes and become a hurricane hunter to find out why you need to move fast to track these storms. Students will discover there is more to weather than meets the eye!
Diamonds Rock!
Grades 6-9
10a.m.-noon
Fee: $18
They are just rocks from the earth, so why does everyone get excited about rubies, sapphires and diamonds? Delve into the wonders of rocks and gemstones and discover what makes these rocks so special.
Participants must be pre-registered prior to the requested program. There will be no registration the day of the programs. Class sizes are limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
