LIVE SCIENCE DEMONSTRATIONS AND ACTIVITES
Science comes to life with Sci-Quest's Live Science Demonstrations and Activities. Every weekend we offer unique and engaging science demonstrations that are FREE with paid admission.
CURRENT DEMONSTRATIONS AND ACTIVITIES:
Cells! Life at the Pond Exhibit Area
Get up close and personal with cells in this activity area developed in conjunction with HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. See how cells are organized, how they differ from one another and even see samples of microscopic life.
- Saturdays: 1 PM
- Sundays: 3 PM
WHNT News Channel 19 Weather Center
Weather comes alive in this hands-on demonstration area where visitors can get a first hand look at weather phenomena. See a weather front being formed, learn about the water cycle and discover how WHNT meteorologists use green screen technology to broadcast the weather.
- Saturdays: 10 AM and 2 PM
- Sundays: Noon
Newton's Lab
Sir Isaac Newton really knew his stuff! Join us as we investigate the laws of motion as we play with eggs, pennies and all sorts of moving stuff! Through some really moving experiments, young scientists will learn that physics can be fun!
- Saturdays: 11 AM
- Sundays: 1 PM
Animal Adventures
Plan your visit around lunch time and come meet our animal clan! See live turtles, tortoises, geckos and snakes and learn where they live and what makes them unique. Our animals may even have a little lunch with you as well!

Tickets are $2 per person
Each show is 30 minutes in length.
